WOW...it's been WAY too long......I didn't think it would be so hard to keep up on a blog.  I can't believe it is February already!!!  Valentine Party this week and talking about love....kids are not super excited about this one :)

Our First Week

We have had such a great week!!!  I have 22 kiddos this year, so far only 20 have been here.  It is a great group of kids.  This week we are working on Brown Bear.....what fun!!!  I started letter id assessments and am amazed at how many students know all or most of their letters already!!!  YAY!!!  We will finish up our week reviewing expectations and finish brown bear unit.  Next week we will start workstations for math and literacy, I can't wait!!!

Curtains, curtains, curtains!!!!

So this weekend I have made a monkey birthday cake and started working on curtains for my classroom.  Since we can't hang a bunch of posters this year I have decided to make curtains to cover my cabinets because me and bare cabinets don't mix!!!  I have a lot to do and not a lot of time to do it, I have exactly 2 weeks to get my room organized and ready for the new year!!   (No, we don't start that soon, but I have to have surgery the week before school starts) I will also be a mentor this year, which I am SUPER excite about!!  I take that has a big compliment from the administrators.

Vacation Time

Finished Summer School last week.....whew, I made it!!!  After school, I took my stuff back to my regular classroom, it was so clean!!!  I have missed my classroom, but there was no time to sit and enjoy it, I had to finish packing for vacation.  We left Friday night for Destin Florida.....it is AMAZING!!!!  We got here early on Saturday and went straight to the beach....got a little burned that day :( but the white sand and warm water was worth it!!!  Went on the boat yesterday, saw 1 dolphin (I didn't get a picture though....booooooo)   Last night Cory and I went to dinner and did a little shopping, got me a new Coach purse!!!!  Today we went to an arcade and shopping.  Tomorrow we are hanging out poolside!!  I love it here!!!!  I am however ready to get back into my classroom, need to remeasure some things so I can get started on my new curtains.  Since we won't be hanging posters on our cabinets, I am making curtains to cover them....bare cabinets make me CRAZY!!!!  I am getting ready for a new year and adventure to begin!

Ready for the Weekend!!!

This has been a longggggg week!!!  I am so ready for the weekend, spending it in Branson with my wonderful in-laws.   This week I had to set up classroom for summer school, had our end of the year volleyball party, and started some other school projects.  Today I worked on my post it lesson plan book, ran out of post its and then started making my pretty clipboard.....can't wait to see how it turns out.  Tonight we will be packing for the weekend and leaving in the morning!!!  YAY!!!

Graduation

Last night all my little kiddos graduated.....bitter sweet!!!  I love my little group that I have this year, it was a good year, despite my being gone a month for medical reasons!  I had a rough year personally but my kids and parents made it easier on me.  We worked hard and got the job done.  I am proud of each and every one of my students!  The ceremony was great, they all did wonderful!!

End to a Great Weekend!

What a GREAT Mother's Day!!!  I spent most of the day with my daughter, Hope, watching tv and playing with her.  Then my husband came home and gave me the movie, The Vow (cute movie!!!) and I got luggage from the kiddos....we are going on a real vacation this summer!!!!  After that we picked up Ashton from his mom's and then had a quite evening at home.

This week is the LAST week of school, it is bitter sweet, I love my little group this year yet I am excited for the summer.  I am so proud of my kids this year!  I was a rough year due to medical issues, but we kept pushing and got through the material and had lots of fun along the way!!  Hope everyone has a great rest of the school year.
